A short snapshot of what’s changing in the web world, what I’m seeing from our clients, and a few things that might be worth having on your radar.

Quick AI content tip

Use AI for ideas, not answers

I recently used AI to help me decide if I want to do the Death Ride, which is a long, challenging (for me) road bike ride in Northern California. AI gave me the wrong route and faulty registration info. It also gave me great training ideas and possible pacing strategies.

AI is great at generating possibilities and brainstorming options. It can be terrible at being accurate. Whether you’re writing copy, solving a business problem, or deciding on a bike ride, use AI to generate ideas. Then, think critically.

Know your audience

As AI search tools change how people find you, understanding your audience is more essential than ever. You must grasp what they’re looking for, how they search, and what problems they’re trying to solve.

Build your website content around the people who matter to your business and the rest will follow.

One small idea

Who is your site actually for?

Pick the three most important customer or user types for your business. For each one, write down: who they are, what they are looking for, what problem does your business solve for them, and how they would describe that problem.

If you Google “marketing persona template,” you’ll find lots of resources to help you understand your customers.

Don’t ignore website maintenance

If you’re an Alpen Lily client, you’ve heard this already.

AI-powered attacks are getting faster and smarter. Attackers are using AI to scale phishing, generate convincing fake content, and automate security hacks at a pace that’s hard to keep up with. That’s why staying patched and updated isn’t optional anymore. If you’re like me and live in bear country, it’s as essential as locking your car doors at night.

We help organizations make thoughtful decisions about their websites as technology, search, accessibility requirements, and AI continue to change. Our work focuses on clarity, usability, and long-term effectiveness, not trends or quick fixes.

Sometimes that means building something new. Often it means asking better questions and making small, strategic improvements that actually matter.
